No matter what your game, the benefits of playing a team sport are pretty much endless.
Typically more of a way for young folks to stay entertained during the colder months of the year. But did you know that the warmer months provide an even better playing field to kick off from? And, here are our top five reasons why.
1. More time in the day
Sure, daylight savings might just provide the illusion that there are more hours in the day but it sure does feel that way. What better way to spend an afternoon than having a run around on the local oval? Endorphins and such.
2. Play to a crowd
Let’s be honest, no one likes playing sport in the wet weather let alone going to watch it. It’s a lot easier to rent a crowd when the rays are beaming down on slightly sunburnt faces.
3. Beer tastes better on a hot Sunday afternoon
We shouldn’t even need to elaborate on this one right? To celebrate, or commiserate with an ice-cold refreshment – it’s pretty much lore by now.
4. Fewer cancellations
Back to the weather again for a red hot minute, sometimes it feels as though every second game gets canceled during the chilly months. In Summer, you’re sure to actually get much more bang for your rego dollar.
5. Calories In v.s Calories Out
You know what the sunshine and longer days mean? Afternoon catch-ups and Spring/Summer socialising. You know what that means? Cheese, crackers and general deliciousness. Plus, the aforementioned arvo beverages. So, why not get out in the morning and burn some calories with your teammates so that you can top them back up at a later date.
