Newcastle watering hole, The Squire’s Maiden will close its doors for good this weekend.
Taking to social media on Wednesday, Squire’s Maiden management revealed that the venue would cease trading this Sunday.
The post cited changing trends and ‘market expectations’ in Newcastle as the reason for the closure.
The Squire’s Maiden opened almost 7 years ago and paved the way for the emerging craft beer market,” the post read.
“We quickly became known as offering a new craft beer with intriguing taste profiles, supported by up-market comfort food, to the Newcastle community.
“As always, trends change along with market expectations and now it is time for the next chapter.”
The post continued, thanking punters and staff while hinting at another venture down the track.
“We are very grateful to everyone that has joined and supported us in our journey and are thankful for the employees, the partnerships and customers that have accompanied us in our growth. Many of you have become part of our extended family and everyone that has contributed to the great success of The Squires Maiden holds a special place in our hearts.”
The post continued: “As they say, when one door closes, another opens. Stay tuned for what’s next.”
