Walking inside the beautiful Spiegeltent, which has taken over Civic Park until 1 May, is like being transported to a 19th Century Parisian burlesque house.
Make no mistake, Blanc de Blanc Encore is the most risquรฉ show you’ll see in Newcastle this year, but that’s just one reason you shouldn’t miss it.
The luxurious European โkabaret salonโ ensures every seat in the house feels close to the action, and right from the get-go, the performance is literally in your face (that’s an in-joke for everyone who’s already seen the show).
It’s a heady and raunchy champagne glass full of cabaret, burlesque and daring circus acts, full of jaw-dropping moments both from the incredible acrobatics and brazenly spicy dialogue. From the start of the night until the on-your-feet finale you’ll be covering your mouth from laughter or gasping with disbelief.
Guiding you through your bubbly Blanc de Blanc journey is the charming and devilishly naughty duo of Felix and Remi.
After a smooth and sophisticated introduction into the world that you’ll inhabit over the next two and a half hours Felix and Remi get straight into turning up the temperature in the room with some hot and spirituous comedy.
So later in the evening, when the pair start performing breathtaking feats of acrobatics, it becomes obvious you’re witnessing a show featuring absolutely world-class and multi-disciplined performers who are at the peak of their physical and theatrical abilities.

Musical interludes, led by vocalist Melanie Hawkins, bring new life to classic songs. Every eye is on Skylar Benton when she hits the stage with her cheeky and full frontal burlesque. And the strength and acrobatic power of Caitlin, Mirko, Spencer and Teuton will leave even the fittest members of the audience questioning what they’ve been doing with their lives.
One minute you’re on the edge of your seat as performers execute unbelievable feats above your head, and the next minute you’ll be all wide-eyed as they’re spinning around the room on a bendy poll finning up your glass with champagne.
Put simply, what’s happening in The Spiegeltent is the perfect example of why we’re always saying that can’t beat live performanceโฆ There’s just no equivalent.
It’s an intoxicating ride and you’re often left in disbelief that it’s happening right in front of you. Don’t miss this show!
Blanc de Blanc is now playing multiple shows a week in Civic Park Newcastle until 1 May 2022. You can find out more and grab tickets by visiting strutnfret.com/spiegeltentnewcastle. See below for some tips on how to do it in style!
HOW TO SPIEGELTENT IN NEWCASTLE

MAHO MAGIC BAR
Take our word for it, Maho Magic Bar is a must-do as part of your Spiegeltent experience. Our tip is to book in for the early show ahead of the Blanc be Blanc performance. Kicking off your night with some cocktails, sake, Japanese beer and the craziest magicians you’ll see this side of Tokyo is the only way to roll. The Maho Magic Bar is set up alongside the Spiegeltent for the duration of its season – You can’t miss its neon-lit exterior.
HIT THE BAR
If you don’t visit Maho Magic Bar (you’d be crazy not to) we’d recommend arriving at least 30 minutes, if not an hour, before doors open for the show. You can grab a drink and a box of popcorn from the Spiegeltent bar, or taste what you’re missing from the Maho Magic popup bar. And don’t worry The Spiegeltentโs internal bar keeps the drinks flowing throughout the show too.
GO RINGSIDE
A trip to The Spiegeltent is a once-in-a-year kind of experience so why not treat yourself to the best seats in the house – right up front! And not only will a Ringside VIP ticket get you in the middle of the action, but you’ll also get a glass of champagne on arrival and take home a Blanc de Blanc Encore program.
PARTY ON
If you’re planning to head to Blanc de Blanc with a group we’d recommend booking one of the Spiegeltent’s luxurious, cushioned, private booths. You and up to eight people will receive a program and a glass of champagne on arrival plus table service from the bar via QR code! Table service is provided exclusively to booth guests, so if you’re planning to make a night of it with you and your tribe, this is the only way to fly.
