NEXT BIG THING: Got what it takes to rock the Sound Station stage?

Are you on a band that has slavishly been jamming away in the practice space and reckon it’s high time Newcastle got to hear your stuff?

Well, you’re in luck because now you have the chance to nab a spot on the bill for the upcoming Sound Station Music and Arts Festival, playing alongside some of Newy’s finest.

Obviously your chops will have to be put to the test, so heats will be held at The Lass O’ Gowrie (date TBA), The Stag and Hunter Hotel ( Wednesday 4 March), and The Wickham Park Hotel (Wednesday 11 March).

If your outfit is deemed rockin’ enough, it will then progress to the grand final at the Cambridge Hotel on Saturday 21 March where one band will be chosen to grace the Sound Station stage.

All you have to do to enter is head over to the Sound Station website, fill out the easy-as-pie form and organisers will be in touch.

An initiative of the Newcastle Live Music Taskforce, the festival aims to celebrate and support the eclectic and talented scene the city has cultivated with a lineup that includes The Gooch Palms, Jets Play Jets, The Porkers, Amy Vee, Eat Your Heart Out, Grace Turner, Glovers Lane, Kookshill, Cornstalk, Boycott, DV8, Brien McVernon and the Rockers From OZ, The Blues Bombers, and Kailey Pallis.

The Sound Station Music and Arts Festival is on at The Station, Newcastle on Saturday 4 April. The event which will run across two stages is completely free, however, a ticket available via Sticky Tickets is required for entry.
