Snow Time in the Garden will return from 27 June to 26 July for a month of snow-filled fun at Hunter Valley Gardens.

The annual event, one of the region’s most popular school holiday attractions, will once again transform the Gardens into a frosty playground featuring snow activities, family entertainment, carnival rides and winter-themed experiences for visitors of all ages.

Located just a short drive from Sydney, the event offers families the opportunity to experience a taste of winter without travelling to the snowfields.

“Snow Time in the Garden continues to be one of the most anticipated events on our calendar, bringing families and friends together to create unforgettable winter memories,” Hunter Valley Gardens Group Operations Manager Julie Pettit said.

“Year after year, we love seeing guests return to experience the magic, excitement and festive atmosphere that makes Snow Time so special.

“There’s something truly unique about stepping into a winter wonderland right here in the Hunter Valley. From ice skating and snow play to racing down a giant ice toboggan, Snow Time offers fun for every age. It’s the perfect opportunity for everyone to let loose, embrace the joy of winter and make memories together.”

Snow play, ice skating and giant toboggan thrills

Included with admission is access to some of the event’s biggest attractions, including the mega Snow Play Zone, where families can build snowmen and enjoy real snow experiences. Visitors can also take on the 45-metre giant Ice Toboggan or lace up their skates and hit the expansive Ice Skating Rink.

Carnival rides add to the excitement

Alongside the snow attractions, a selection of Hunter Valley Gardens’ signature carnival rides will be operating throughout the event. Additional ride tickets can be purchased at the ride ticket booth. Popular attractions include the 25-metre Ferris Wheel, offering views across the snow-covered precinct, the traditional Venetian Carousel and the ever-popular Swing Chairs.

Meet winter characters and enjoy daily entertainment

Children can enjoy a range of interactive entertainment throughout the month. Polar Bear, Penguin and Mr Abominable Snowman will roam the event for photo opportunities, while Glacier Guy will lead snow play activities. Visitors can skate to the sounds of DJ Jeff’s Glacial Grooves and join the Abominable Adventure, where families are invited to help free the Frozen Yeti.

A winter wonderland throughout the Gardens

Beyond the event attractions, guests will have access to Hunter Valley Gardens’ ten display gardens, including the much-loved Storybook Garden, all set against a winter-themed backdrop. A range of food and beverage options will also be available, with visitors able to warm up with wood-fired pizzas, burgers, dumplings, nachos, toasties and hot chocolate. Sweet treats including waffles, churros, fairy floss and crepes will also be on offer.
