It’s time to ditch the dining table and head to McNamara Park in Broke, where the aroma of sizzling meats and the promise of good times will be filling the air.

Awarded Festival of the Year by the Australasian Barbecue Alliance, the event has become a pilgrimage for barbecue aficionados and foodies alike. From seasoned pitmasters to backyard BBQ enthusiasts, there’s a slice of smoky heaven for everyone. It promises a culinary carnival where smoke swirls, laughter echoes, and flavours dance on your palate.

This year, the festival boasts a star-studded lineup of BBQ royalty, including Robert Thraves from Smokin Hot ‘n Saucy BBQ in the Hunter Valley, Jim Osborne from Bluebird BBQ in Warwick, Qld, Graeme Stockdale from the Stockpot Kitchen – Smokehouse BBQ & Fried Chicken in Lismore, NSW, and Brett Gray from Meat Graffitti in Victoria.

And if you think you’ve got what it takes to be crowned the BBQ champion, you’re in luck.

Local competitors will have the chance to step up to the BBQ and showcase their skills at the Smoke in Broke BBQ Competition, sanctioned by the Australasian Barbecue Alliance.
