Skate your way to Rutherford Shred

Thursday 11 October between 12.00pm and 4.00pm.

Rutherford Shred, a new community event that focuses on youth, will be the place to be for local skaters and scooter enthusiasts. The free event drops into Rutherford Skate Park on Thursday 11 October between 12.00pm and 4.00pm.

Council’s Manager Community & Recreation Services Laurie D’Angelo says, ‘Rutherford Shred gives local youth the opportunity to connect with other like-minded young people and to showcase and celebrate their skating or scooting talents.

The event will feature skating demonstrations performed by local pro skaters from Grundy’s Skate Store, as well as a street art activity that you can get involved in. There will also be a local DJ if you just want to kick back in the chill out zone and hang out.

‘Young people are the future of our city, so it is important that we support and encourage their contributions that they make to our community. Rutherford Shred will offer a wonderful way to connect with young people through their interests and passions and talk about issues that are important to them. It’s also a chance just to hang out and have a lot of fun’, added Ms Laurie D’Angelo.

This is an inclusive and family friendly event for all. Rutherford Shred is also a drug and alcohol-free event and more information can be found by visiting facebook.com/events/422963164898435/
