SIX the Musical is making its way to Newcastle for a limited three-week season in 2025.
The Tony Award-winning production, which has become a global phenomenon will hit the Civic Theatre from 10 April with its innovative, modern retelling of King Henry VIII’s six wives.
Celebrated for giving the six historical figures a chance to reclaim their own narratives from under the shadow of their notorious husband. Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, the creators of the show, have reimagined the six historical figures as pop stars supported by an all-female band led by Claire Healy on keys
The queens take turns stepping into the spotlight, offering a fresh, fierce, and independent perspective on their lives, interwoven with catchy pop anthems and humour. Characters like Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, and Jane Seymour present themselves as vibrant, empowered women with their own stories to tell.
The Australian cast is filled with top-tier talent, including Kimberley Hodgson as Catherine of Aragon, fresh from her role in West Side Story on Sydney Harbour. Deirdre Khoo, from The Rocky Horror Show, brings Anne Boleyn to life, while Loren Hunter returns to the role of Jane Seymour after her acclaimed performance in previous tours.
Zelia Rose Kitoko, Chelsea Dawson, and Giorgia Kennedy round out the cast as Anna of Cleves, Katherine Howard, and Catherine Parr, delivering powerhouse performances that have already won the hearts of theatregoers across the country.
