Three of the most hilarious female comics on the circuit will have ’em rolling in the aisles at 5 Sawyers this week.
And best of all, your laughs will help others because all proceeds on the night will go towards supporting the fantastic local initiative Got Your Back Sista!
How good is that?
So here’s a little bit of what you can expect on the night.
Sydney-based comic Nikki Britton will be headlining the event and is sure to have you chortling with abandon.
Nikki started out as an actor and exploded onto the comedy scene in 2011 with her warm, lightning-paced style, that has subsequently seen her appear on the Melbourne Comedy Festival Oxfam Gala, ABC’s Comedy Up Late and on The Comedy Channel as part of the Just For Laughs Festival.
Her show, Once Bitten received standing ovations and excellent reviews to sold out houses at festivals across the country.
Ex-pat UK comedian Emma Malik now calls Australia home and we are all the better for it.
Emma loves animals so much she trained them professionally for over a decade. That is until a drunken dare lead her to try stand-up comedy, a “one off” gig which turned into a career.
Since then Emma has traveled the world delivering her unique stand-up. Emma made her on-screen debut as the female lead for a well-known condom brand and went on to appear on Nickelodeon, the Darren Sanders Show and even managed to land the role of the “before” for a diet shake commercial.
Emma has been described as “dirty, yet oh so charming” and is known for her quick wit, audience interactions and high energy. She is also the only animal training comedian in Australia
Kathryn Thomas is a comedian, writer, actor and director.
She performed all over the country (inc The Comedy Lounge, The Comedy Store, Melbourne Town Hall). Kathryn is a 2019 RAW Comedy National Finalist and has appeared on SBS VICELAND and Saturday Night Rove.
She recently opened for Becky Lucas, Chris Ryan and Cameron James for the Sydney Comedy Festival. Kathryn was described as “the most exciting new comic on the scene”.
What’s it all in aid of?
Well, Got Your Back Sista, of course!
For the uninitiated, Got Your Back Sista offers benevolent relief and support to women and children escaping domestic violence and are at risk of living below the poverty line.
Catch Got Your Back Sista at 5 Sawyers on Thursday 21 November. Get your tickets here.
