SHOOT YOUR LOCAL: Snap a pic of your favourite pub and win $5000!

There’s no denying that Novocastrians love their pubs, right?

Well now thanks to Newcastle Art Space (NAS) you can flaunt the love of your local to the world and have the chance to win a tidy cash prize into the bargain.

That’s right, NAS has teamed up with Hunt Hospitality to present the $5000 Shoot Your Local photographic prize.

The new prize calls on snappers- both amateur and professional to shoot scenes at their favourite watering hole.

It could be live entertainment, cellar, kitchen or bar work, the architecture of the ub or the characters that inhabit it – it’s all about telling the visual story of our local.

Even better, you don’t need to have the latest ‘whiz-bang’ camera gear either as you can use your smartphone to snap your fave pub moment.

The prize is open to residents living in the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Port Stephens local government areas, and the hotels you shoot must also be within these locations.

First prize is $5000 cash, with judging conducted by renowned snappers Max Mason-Hubers, James Murphy and Stephen Hunt.

The prize officially opens on November 1, 2019, with entries due by January 28, 2020. The winner will be announced at The Duke of Wellington Hotel, New Lambton, on February 28, at 6.30pm.
