SEPTEMBER GAMES: New releases every gamer should be excited for

Last week, one of our resident video gamers, Brad Burgoyne told us how he’s fallen back in love with the Rockstar Games‘ release Red Dead Redemption 2.

This week he’s back with some more gaming goodness in the form of a stack of new release games that he’s looking forward to.

Check it out below…

September new releases that every gamer should be excited for!

As an avid gamer, I’ll be the first to admit it’s been pretty slow on the new release front (Thanks COVID!)

But as we are heading towards the holiday season it looks like that drought is about to break! This month there is a range of new releases available for any gamer, and a remaster of a classic for those who are looking for that nostalgic hit.

Life Is Strange: True Colors
(PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox) – 10th September

The fifth instalment of the graphic adventure series developed by Deck Nine focuses on Alex Chen, as she tries to solve the mystery behind her brother’s death. As per previous instalments, Alex is gifted with a unique ability, this time the power to experience the emotions of others.

Make sure you have the tissue box ready because we are expecting this release to hit you right in the feels.

Deathloop
(PC, PS5) – 14th September

Developer Arkane Studios have built upon their beloved sandbox gameplay from the Dishonoured series to this new next-gen IP.

You play as Colt, an assassin stuck in a time loop tasked to take out eight targets before midnight, and if you die you wake back up at the start of the day, bringing the knowledge of your previous run through with you giving you the ability to adapt and explore new ways to achieve the mission.

True next-generation games have been few and far between with the challenges of the pandemic slowing development, could this be the next-gen release PS5 users have been aching for?

Kena: Bridge of Spirits
(PC, PS4, PS5) – 21st September

This third-person action-adventure game developed and published by Embar Lab follows the story of Kena, a spirit guide who uses her magical abilities to help deceased people move from the physical to the spirit world.

The trailer shown at the February 2021 Playstation State of Play presentation was praised for the beautiful environment and graphics comparing the visuals to the films of Pixer and has been named by GamesRader as one of the most anticipated games of the year!

Will it live up to the hype?

Diablo II: Resurrected
(PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox, Switch) – 23rd September

There is no doubt that the original Diablo II was a cultural phenomenon, and I will always be grateful to the unknown hero who installed it onto the school computers!

20 years since the original, Blizzard is giving us the chance to relive it once again with a complete remaster. Complete with 3D graphics, reworked cut scenes & plenty of quality of life improvements that will make you fall in love with this classic all over again.
