The John Hunter Hospital School (JHHS) is set to transport locals back in time this month with their School Fete for Grown-Ups fundraiser.

Acting as a bridge between health, school and community, the John Hunter Hospital School has recently piloted an Outreach Program, which has been really successful.

However, like other schools, they don’t have a P&C or canteen to help them raise funds to continue their work with children who need it the most. So, the School Fete for Grown-Ups was born.

The event, to be held at The Station later this month, promises to be unlike any school fate you’ve been to.

There’ll be bake sales featuring chocolate crackles and coconut ice, retro-inspired merchandise, photo opportunities and makeup and hair stalls.

JHHS has also partnered with the Australian Childrenโ€™s Television Foundation and will screen shows like Round The Twist, Lift Off!, and Kaboodle via an outdoor cinema setup at the fete. The night will conclude with a retro Blue Light Disco.

School Fete for Grown-Ups is happening at The Station in Newcastle on Saturday 16 September 2023. Visit eventbrite.com for more information and tickets.
