Due to massive demand, Tim has added an extra Newcastle show which will be at the Civic Theatre on Tuesday March 24. Head here for tickets NOW!
When internationally-renowned multi-talent Tim Minchin returned Down Under earlier this year, the acclaimed Back tour sold out in record-breaking time.
Well, the comedian, composer, writer, and actor is coming back to do it all again, and this time around Newcastle will get a look-in.
That’s right, Tim will be bringing Back to the Civic Theatre on Monday 23 March 2020!
Back was Tim’s first Australian tour since returning to the country after almost a decade of living overseas and was seen by almost 69,000 Australians after a seven-year absence from the stage.
This time around, the tour is billed as Old Songs, New Songs, F*** You Songs, which gives an insight into what we can expect from the set – one full of gems from all corners of Tim’s eclectic and often irreverent and iconoclastic repertoire.
Tim has been kicking goals globally for the music and lyrics for the hit musical Matilda which has become one of the most acclaimed musicals of the last two decades with a record seven Olivier Awards, 13 Helpmann Awards, and five Tonys!
Tim also composed music and lyrics for the musical adaptation of the classic Bill Murray comedy Groundhog Day which picked up an Olivier Award for best musical in 2017.
Since his welcome return to the stage, Tim hasn’t been resting on his laurels. He starred in the ABC comedy series Squinters as well as appearing alongside Tom Hardy and Jamie Foxx as Friar Tuck in the 2018 big-screen retelling of Robin Hood.
Further, he also starred in Upright an eight-part series for Foxtel/Sky UK, which he co-wrote with Chris Taylor from The Chaser.
Catch Tim Minchin at the Civic Theatre on Monday 23 March.
Tickets are on sale from 12pm on Wednesday, August 28. Live Nation presale begins at 12pm on Monday 26 August until 10am on Wednesday 28 August.
