Spring is in the air and summertime is just around the corner.
And what better way to celebrate than with Australian pop rock legends Thirsty Merc?
The band are on the cusp of releasing their first-ever live album and are celebrating with a hefty run of dates and the Hunter is set to get a look in with shows at the Mezz Bar at Wallsend Diggers, Shoal Bay Country Club AND Lizottes.
Out on October 4, Thirsty Merc Live was recorded over two nights at Collingwood’s Gasometer Hotel in late 2017 and was mixed by uber-producer and long-time collaborator Lindsay Gravina (The Living End, The Birthday Party, Kate Miller-Heidke).
The slab of hits showcases one of this country’s hardest working bands, complete with all the banter and raucous audience reaction, putting you front and centre for all those glorious tracks like In The Summertime, 20 Good Reasons, and Someday Someday.
“We reckon this album uncompromisingly showcases the rawness of our live gigs, with a sonic presentation that easily stands up to any of our studio releases. Needless to say, we’re pumped to be hitting the road again in October,” frontman Rai Thistlethwayte said.
Also, if you saw the boys rip through their massive set at this year’s Live At The Foreshore you’d know that these shows are not to be missed.
Catch Thirsty Merc at Wallsend Diggers Mezz Bar on Friday 25 October, Shoal Bay Country Club on Saturday 7 December and Lizotte’s on Thursday 12 December.
