Author, actor, raconteur, activist and all-round funnyman Russell Brand is heading to Newcastle in 2020.
The lauded multi-talent will bring his new show Recovery Live to the Civic Theatre on Monday 2 March.
Based on his 2017 book Recovery: Freedom From Our Addictions the show promises to be a funny and profane exploration into personal development and wellness from a no-holds-barred comedian who has dedicated himself to spirituality in order to avoid self-destruction.
“This is a program for living for those aspiring to be saints who have lived too long among demons,” Russell said.
“This is an alternative vision for life at a time devoid of real values and connection. This could be the thing you have been looking for and it’s weird that this is the way you’re going to find it.”
This 90-minute experience will introduce audiences to the system that saved Russell’s life, continues to save his sanity and will work for anyone who is willing to commit to it.
After starting his showbiz career on the stand-up circuit, Russell’s quick wit and uncompromising attitude soon had television beckoning with a string of presenting gigs before landing roles in such big-screen fare as Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Arthur and Despicable Me.
He is the author of seven books, including the New York Times’ bestseller, Recovery: Freedom From Our Addictions, and Mentors: How to Help and Be Helped. His podcast, “Under The Skin” is available on Luminary.
Catch Russell Brand at The Civic Theatre on Monday 2 March. Tickets are on sale at 9am on Monday 16 December through Ticketek. Presale kicks off at 2pm on Wednesday 11 December until 5pm on Sunday 15 December.
