Will it may make a portion of us feel old, ’90s indie rock heroes Regurgitator are turning 25 this year and, in true band fashion, they are hitting the road to mark the auspicious occasion.
The Brisbane-bred three-piece were frequent visitors to our fair city in their ‘heyday’ so it makes sense that a Newy show was on the cards, and they have come good, announcing a blowout at the Cambridge on Thursday 7 November.
To make things even more appealing The ‘Gurge will be bringing Shonen Knife – the princesses of Japanese power punk along for the ride as well as fellow 1990s indie heroes The Fauves.
After a string of EPs, Regurgitator hit the Aussie music stratosphere proper with their 1996 debut long player Tu Plang, led by the glorious ode to the fortune cookie Kung Fu Sing.
Subsequent albums such as their 3x platinum second record Unit (which featured the groundbreaking singles Black Bugs, I Like Your Old Stuff Better Than Your New Stuff, The Song Formerly Known As and Polyester Girl) which made them one of the most crucial bands on the Aussie festival and indie rock circuit.
Fans can be sure to expect a set traversing Regurgitator’s impressive and eclectic back catalogue.
