The ever-popular Bikers for Kids Newcastle Toy Run is gearing up for a massive 2019 and they’re kicking things off early with a Christmas in July Event.
This time around the 2019 Toy Run will be launched at The Station on Friday 19 July, as part of the site’s Friday Bar Eats and Beats activation.
Bikers for Kids will be bringing along a Costumed Crusader or two and in return are asking you to bring cash to help kick off the fundraising drive for kids in need during the festive season.
There will also be a special appearance from Santa Ray and his sleigh as well as The Salvation Army and Hunter Heroes.
You will also have a chance to grab a raffle ticket that will put you in the draw to win a new bike from Sol Invictus Motorcycle Co.
If that wasn’t enough, there will be more food, fun and friends than you can poke a stick at with Friday Bar Eats and Beats.
Every Friday, you can find food trucks offering sumptuous international cuisine, creative market stalls, live and local music as well as a free kids’ zone for both the young and young at heart, making this a great way to see in the weekend with the whole family.
Now in its 42nd year, the Bikers for Kids Newcastle Toy Run is the oldest annual event of its kind in Australia.
Every year in December more than 10,000 motorcycles from Newcastle and beyond roar into action for a vibrant fundraising event unlike any other.
The purpose of the Toy Run is to provide toys, cash donations and support of for kids in need during the Christmas season.
Last year the Bikers for Kids Toy Run event raised over $36,000 in cash and an estimated $60,000 worth of gifts. Around 4,000 families were assisted with toys and gifts from the Salvation Army.
The Toy Run has raised over $250,000 in cash donations and toys in just the last five years.
The 2019 Bikers for Kids Newcastle Toy Run launch is on Friday 19 July. Celebrations will kick off under the Christmas Tree from 4pm
