Sad Grrrls Fest Announce Newcastle Sideshow

Australia’s Largest Female-Fronted Music Festival, Sad Grrrls Club has announced an exclusive Sad Grrrls Fest sideshow to take place in Newcastle on Thursday October 6.


The free entry show at The Hamilton Station Hotel will take place between Sad Grrrls Fest Melbourne on October 1st and Sad Grrrls Fest Sydney on October 8th, with a lineup that focuses on some of Newcastle’s best female-fronted musical acts.


Headlining the show will be Sydney’s all-girl Indie Punk outfit BANDINTEXAS, followed by Newcastle two-piece Hey Lady!Jen Buxton will be performing with her country-tinged backing band The Slaughterhouse Five.

Rounding out the lineup will be two Novocastrian singer/songwriters; Codi Kaye, who’s original song ‘You’re Not Innocent’ has racked up nearly one million views on Youtube, and Aitah – the solo project of Georgina Liversedge.


Sad Grrrls Club  is a DIY Record Label and Booking Agency based in NSW and working with artists all over Australia to promote gender diversity in the music industry, with the focus being to amplify and exemplify the role that non-male artists play in the Australian Music Industry.


Sad Grrrls Fest 2016 is a one-day music festival taking place in Sydney and Melbourne with separate lineups. Performers this year include Camp Cope, Alex Lahey, Le Pie, Coda Conduct, and Jaala to name a few.
