That’s how a Newcastle women found out she had won a $50,000 Keno prize from a ticket purchased at the Royal Inn, Waratah.
Confirming her win with an official from Keno this morning, the woman said she was still reeling from the excitement.
“It’s still sinking in!” she giggled.
“We were just having lunch and I thought I would play a game of Keno.
“I don’t play very often but when I do I always play the same numbers, family birthdates.
“I was so excited when I saw them appearing on the screen.
“When I scanned the ticket and realised I’d won $50,000, all I could think of was a new car!
“It’s so exciting!”
Licensee of the Royal Inn, Cale Greer said he was stoked for their winner.
“Everyone was so excited when we realised someone in the venue had scored such an exciting prize,” he said.
“The atmosphere was electric. We’ve been celebrating the news with everyone.
“We wish our winner all the best!”
