Rob Thomas announces Hunter Valley show

Former Matchbox 20 frontman Rob Thomas has announced he will be doing his thing at Bimbadgen this November!

The tour announcement, which also includes shows in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, the Yarra Valley and Mount Cotton, comes off the back of the release of Rob’s fourth studio album Chip Tooth Smile.

While Rob is no stranger to the charms of the Hunter Valley, having performed at Hope Estate in 2012 with Matchbox 20 and again at Hope, in solo mode in 2016, this will be the first time he has rocked Bimbadgen.

Alongside cuts from his latest album, Rob will also be treating Hunter audiences to a slew of hits including This Is How A Heart Breaks, Lonely No More, and Streetcorner Symphony.

Of his latest album, Rob said that he took a more “autobiographical approach”.

“I was writing about experiences I’ve been through that I could’ve only been through by getting older, by facing mortality, by having a son, by having a family, and by having responsibilities that I didn’t have when I first started out,” he said. “It’s very autobiographical about where I’m at now and where I’m headed.”

Rob Thomas will play A Day On The Green at Bimbadgen on Saturday 16 November.

General presale tickets will be available through Ticketmaster from 12pm on Wednesday 8 May.
