REDISCOVER YOUR CITY: Take your best (four-legged) mate on a CBD date

According to 2020 stats released by the RSPCA there are over 29 million pets in Australia with 40% of them being man’s best four legged friend, dogs!

In the same research, the four key benefits of pet ownership were detailed as:
– Relational benefits (love, affection and companionship)
– Life being better in general
– Happiness, joy, pleasure and fun
– Improved mental health and wellbeing

If you are thinking that having a doggo (or other pet) in your life sounds pretty rad we are fortunate to have an amazing volunteer organisation here in Newcastle who help to foster and adopt dogs.

This both helps the animals, often having been neglected or in need, and gives you a taste of the costs and responsibilities associated with pet ownership.

You can get more information from Dog Rescue Newcastle and can follow along on their Facebook page.

So, you have your new mate. Now to take them out for a day in town. Where to go, what to see? A drink at The Family Hotel in Hunter Street is absolutely on the cards. Welcoming and easy-going with the sensational Pino’s Diner inside it is a Newcastle Live (& furry friends) fave for a glass of sparkling or a schooner and burger.

After more of a caffeine hit? We cannot go past Cafe Inu in Carrington who have their very own three-legged mascot, the gorgeous Bear.
