Looking for new ways to Rediscover Your City? We’re here to help.

With the weather warming up and ‘staycation’ activities on the rise, Newcastle Live has some great suggestions for getting out and about and exploring Newcastle.

Fancy a paddle?

Newcastle Harbour is Australia’s oldest export port and a brilliant spot to practise your stand up paddle (SUP) boarding skills. Don’t have a board, or a clue? No stress.

Salty Palm Surf Co. are located at Wickham, just a few minutes from the harbour – and they can help with lessons, demos and board hire. They’re open Thursday to Monday and 2 hours board hire is just $40.

2 hours of stand up paddle boarding is quite the workout. We have no doubt you are going to be thirsty afterward.

And what better way to quench your thirst than a tasting paddle of superb local beers at FogHorn Brewery.

This way you get to try a selection of some of the most innovative and fresh craft brews available, enjoyed in Newcastle’s only venue with an on-site brewery and washed down with their range of pizzas, burgers and satisfying fare.
