Newcastle Harbour is Australia’s oldest export port and a brilliant spot to practise your stand up paddle (SUP) boarding skills. Don’t have a board, or a clue? No stress.

Salty Palm Surf Co. are located at Wickham, just a few minutes from the harbour – and they can help with lessons, demos and board hire. They’re open Thursday to Monday and 2 hours board hire is just $40.

2 hours of stand up paddle boarding is quite the workout. We have no doubt you are going to be thirsty afterward.

And what better way to quench your thirst than a tasting paddle of superb local beers at FogHorn Brewery.

This way you get to try a selection of some of the most innovative and fresh craft brews available, enjoyed in Newcastle’s only venue with an on-site brewery and washed down with their range of pizzas, burgers and satisfying fare.
