READ, GROW, INSPIRE: Book Week Mini Fest to Spark Imaginations in Maitland

East Maitland Library is set to ignite the imaginations of young readers with The Read, Grow, Inspire: Book Week Mini Fest.

Featuring an impressive lineup of authors and illustrators from the Children’s Book Council of Australia, the event will be headlined by internationally recognized illustrator Dub Leffler.

A lineup of authors and illustrators such as Lynn Jenkins, Nicky Bolton, and Jenny Goodman, will also take to the stage over the three-hour mini-fest and be on hand for interactive sessions, art workshops and other exciting activities.

“It’s a rare opportunity for the children in Maitland to learn from industry professionals, explore their artistic skills, and get inspired by their favourite stories,” Coordinator Community Participation, Carol Edmonds said.

One of the biggest moments of the event will be the launch of Reach for the Stars, the latest anthology of wild and wonderful stories written by young authors in the region. The anthology showcases the imagination and creativity of budding writers in the area.

The Read, Grow, Inspire: Book Week Mini fest will take over East Maitland Library on Saturday 15 July 2023. To find out more and reserve your ticket visit mait.city/bookweekminifest.
