RE-LAUNCH PARTY: Breathing new life into Newcastle’s Star Hotel

The new owners of Newcastle’s iconic Star Hotel are throwing a huge party to celebrate the relaunch of one of the cities most celebrated venues.

New licensee, Rod Hollowway says the focus of the relaunch is to capture the old feel and character of the hotel while providing great food, beverages and live entertainment.

“Since taking over in April we’ve been focused on brining back the traditional pub feel and celebrating the history of the venue,” Rob told Newcastle Live.

The relaunch party kicks off on Friday 25 June with a stack of lunch specials, a happy hour from 3:00 pm till -6:00 pm, live music, dinner specials and $10 Cocktails serving until late into the night.

Backing up Saturday 26 June, the Star Laneway will be open from 11:00 am for brunch with cocktail specials kicking off in the afternoon and a Glory Days party at night from 8:00 pm.

FAST LUNCHES

If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat and some respite from the office on your lunch break, the Star Hotel are serving up a $12 lunch special menu that is guaranteed to satisfy.

On the $12 lunch menu you’ll find a beefy cheese burger, fish and chips, a plate of chicken wings, a number of different wraps a tasty caesar salad and these amazing mac and cheese bites.

LIVE COMEDY

Every second Tuesday, The Star will host Rising Star Comedy nights.

The lineups feature some rising stars in the comedy scene, local legends and some of the city’s best homegrown talent. Entry is totally free and one lucky audience member will walk away with a $50 tab! Click here for more info.

ACOUSTIC FRIDAYS

Ever Friday night at The Star you’ll find some of Newcastle’s most loved acts delivering acoustic versions of pub rock anthems.

The on stage action ticks off at 8:30pm and runs till late.

RETRO NIGHTS

Each Saturday, The Star Hotel will throw a massive retro party with theme nights that capture the frivolities of heady days gone by.

Glory Days, the first theme night, coming up on Saturday, 26 June, will celebrate the history of The Star Hotel and feature memorabilia from the iconic venue.
