Newcastle band RAAVE TAPES raise a Red Flag

RAAVE TAPES have released the first single from their latest batch of recordings. The song is called Red Flag and you should be adding it to your social isolation playlist right now.

The song was recorded with the band’s friend and producer Fletcher Matthews. And while it’s what we’ve come to love and expect from a RAAVE TAPES song, it’s definitely an evolution from what we heard on their 2019 release dancing because I’m sad which featured a collection of their past singles.

“Less of a change in direction, more of a realisation of a sound we’ve always been driving at,” the band said about the release.

The way that Joab Eastley & Lindsay O’Connell weave their vocal lines throughout the chorus is a true hook of the release and if the beats don’t get you cutting a few shapes around your lounge room we don’t know what will.

Check out the single on Spotify below and while you’re in a RAAVE TAPES mood, check out their cover of Biggest Fool In The World, which Newcastle’s FRITZ released back in 2018.

SHOULD HAVE STAYED AT HOME LAST NIGHT, I SHOULD NOT HAVE GONE OUT 🏠 Taking on this isolation anthem from our hometown homie FRITZ for triple j Unearthed #COVERED19 💚 Wash your hands & look after eachother xx
