Have your pets loved having you around the house during the lockdown? Was your family one of the thousands who adopted a new furry friend over the last two months? Well, this post is for you.
The people behind the pawshake app, often described as the Airbnb for pet sitting, are urging pet owners to plan ahead for their four-legged friends as they return to normal day to day life. They say that cats and dogs around Australia could find the next few weeks and months a little daunting as pet owners venture back to the office and school.
“Our pets have loved having us at home and the additional time we have been spending with them,’ Tanguy Peers, co-founder of Pawshake says.
“But we will need to ease them back into our regular routines properly or else they could develop behavioural issues. This can lead to undesirable behaviours like chewing and barking or separation anxiety.”
The 7-Day Pet Challenge
Tanguy says one important thing to remember is to allocate time within your daily schedule to continue to exercising, playing and bonding with your pet. To help make this happen Pawshake has designed a 7-Day Pet Challenge.
The challenge includes games, training lessons and handy tips to help you and pets adjust to post-lockdown life and keep them physically and mentally challenged.
All you need to do is head to this website and each day you’ll be sent an email with an activity to do with your pet that can be done from the comfort of home, using everyday items from around the house.
