POP-UP & PLAY: Arts Trail pops up in Maitland this month

Maitland’s Levee is set to come alive this month with an exciting Pop-Up & Play Arts Trail.

Offering an array of interactive and family-friendly experiences, the trail will bring together graffiti artists, poets, fortune-tellers and even aerobic dancers.

Curated by local cultural producer Chloe Warren, visitors are invited to immerse themselves in a vibrant collection of activities.

Some of the highlights of the trail include performances by Sydney’s Albert Lin and Maitland’s own Meg O’Hara, as well as captivating installations by Dr. Louisa Magrics and Sandy Sanderson.

The trail also showcases a diverse lineup of artists, including established figures like Alan Schacher from Katoomba and emerging talents like Meg O’Hara, who recently debuted her solo show, Customer Service Conundrum at the Newcastle Fringe Festival. This collaboration highlights the wealth of artistic talent across the state.

“There is such a wealth of artists in our region, often the trouble doesn’t come in sourcing talent but just coordinating it,” Cultural Producer, Chloe Warren said.

“As a producer, I’m always trying to connect artists to opportunities and audiences to artists. An arts trail is a perfect way for a variety of artists to experiment, engage, perform, and get paid. I hope that this Pop-Up & Play will be the first of many…and that one day we’ll have entire Pop-Up & Play festivals!”

Maitland’s Pop-Up & Play Arts Trail is happening on Saturday, July 15, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Levee. Visit for more information.
