POLE POSITION: Your photos from the Coates Hire Newcastle 500

Well, after months of preparation, the chequered flag has fallen on the Coates hire Newcastle 500 for another year.

And what an event it was! While the sun hid behind clouds for much of the weekend, the conditions were ripe for three solid days of high-octane racing action.

While the crowds were anecdotally down on previous years, and the cancellation of rock juggernaut KISS rained on the parade somewhat, scores of motor racing fans lined the streets of Newcastle to catch a glimpse of the action.

At the end of the day, it was seven-time Supercars champion Jamie Whincup that took out the final race of the Supercars season, while Scott Mclaughlan took out the drivers’ championship.

We scoured Instagram to see the event through your eyes and here is what we discovered!
