Play a role in revolutionising Maitland’s playspaces

Maitland City Council is working on a new strategy to improve playspaces across the city… And they want to hear what locals think.

There are currently 75 playspaces across the Local Government Area. Some of the spaces are aimed at younger children, while others focus on providing equipment that caters to people of all ages and abilities.

Following an independent audit in 2023 which assessed the quality and distribution of playspaces in Maitland, the Council has launched a survey to inform playspace planning for the future.

“Playgrounds have an important role in our community’s social, physical and mental wellbeing, particularly for Maitland’s families,” Mayor Philip Penfold said.

“We’re encouraging locals to take the survey and help us develop a strategy to improve our play areas in a sustainable way.”

Feedback can be submitted via mait.city/Playspace-Strategy until Monday 19 February 2024.
