Patrick James brings a message

Local Patrick James fans will be delighted to hear that the Sydney sider is heading to Newcastle as part of his huge national tour. With his full band in tow Patrick will be entertaining the audience at Lizotte’s with songs from his latest EP “Broken Lines”  on Friday September 12.

Earlier this year, James supported Pete Murray on his national tour, Boy & Bear on their mammoth 29 date regional tour and next week begins an all ages theatre tour supporting YouTube sensation Kina Grannis. Once that wraps up, Patrick will be stepping up to headliner status for this tour once again.

Earlier this year James teamed up with Perth-based director Jarrad Seng, who is fresh from directing Passenger’s ‘Hearts on Fire’ video, to work on a video for Patrick’s song Message. With the song evoking thoughts of holding on to something and not being able to let go, the idea of suitcases became the centre-piece. After sourcing suitcases of all shapes and sizes from as many shops as possible and scouting 15 locations that feature in the video, Patrick travelled to Perth for a weekend to bring it all to life. “I’ve always enjoyed the work Jarrad has done previously – whether it’s photography or video, so to work with him made creating the video a lot of fun,” says Patrick.

Patrick James plays Lizotte’s on Friday September 12. Tickets are available via the Lizotte’s website.
