Bearfoot Theatre is set to premiere Cosa Vedranno: What Will They See? at Newcastle’s Owens Collective in an evocative fusion of history, mythology, and dystopian imagination.

This bold new production reimagines iconic figures of the Italian Renaissance like Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and the enigmatic Mona Lisa as maladjusted reincarnations navigating a shattered world.

Stripped of context and civilisation, they must piece together reality, language, and creativity, with outcomes as beautiful as they are unsettling.

The creative force behind this ambitious project is Zippie Tiffenright, an emerging playwright known for award-winning short works such as In Constant Motion and Queen Mab.

Cosa Vedranno: What Will They See? marks Zippie’s first full-length script. The production leans into tactile storytelling, filling the intimate gallery space with oil paint, cloth, and movement, offering an immersive, sensory-rich experience.

Drawing inspiration from classic Italian texts like The Divine Comedy: Inferno and Lives of the Artists Vol. 1, the show plunges into themes of faith, destruction, and rediscovery.

Audiences can expect powerful performances from Piper Graham as Lisa, Mackenzie Thomson as Vinnie, Alex Giles as Angelo, and Allira Carter as Isla, with Caitlin Price stepping in as Swing.

Face art by Zen Deininger and production assistance from Olivia Harrington help craft a visually striking world where the past collides with a ravaged future.

Cosa Vedranno: What Will They See? runs from Wednesday, 30 April, to Saturday, 3 May, with both matinee and evening performances. The production carries content warnings for death and moderate violence and is recommended for ages 13 and up. Tickets are available now via trybooking.com.
