Prominent food rescue organization, OzHarvest, is gearing up to create a delicious and sustainable culinary experience at Feast for the Senses in Lake Mac in September.
Diners will feast on an “all taste, no waste” two-course vegetarian meal prepared by OzHarvest chefs featuring sustainably sourced and rescued ingredients.
The collab not only aims to tantalize taste buds but also to raise awareness about reducing food waste and promoting sustainable eating practices with $5 from each ticket going directly to the food rescue charity.
“There is a firm focus with this event on nothing going to waste,” Lake Macquarie City Council Manager Arts, Culture and Tourism Jacqui Hemsley said.
“The vegetarian menu helps protect our planet, and any leftovers will be packaged at the end of the night and redistributed to people in need.”
For $70, attendees will enjoy a drink upon arrival, a two-course meal prepared by OzHarvest chefs, and live entertainment.
Acclaimed street brass ensemble Hot Potato Band will provide the musical backdrop for the evening, adding an energetic touch to the already exciting event.
Feast for the Senses is happening on 16 September at the Multi-Arts Pavilion in Speers Point Park. Tickets are on sale until Monday 4 September or until sold out. Head to livingsmartfestival.com.au for more information and bookings.
