Here’s The Osman’s weekly post. This week he’s talking about Access All 80s, Missy and He’s off to the Coast Hotel Budgewoi to guest judge at their battle of the bands competition this Friday night.

Well, I am a huge supporter of original bands and their original music, however, if you have any recollection of the 80’s, or have seen the movie Rock Of Ages, you really need to see the highly entertaining band, ALL ACCESS AREAS 80s: THE 80s Rock Tribute. My goodness, from the first note the lively motivated crowd, most dressed in 80s clothing, vibrantly coloured and lycra clad (including the band) absolutely rocks. I would not class them as a “cover band” or a straight “tribute band” as they are a full on tribute to an era that appears to be deep inside many people. The band is a high energy entertainment machine. They do not “copy” any particular band, however, laced with long hair, headbands and lycra, certainly create the illusion of being trapped in the mighty 80’s Rock Scene.

The lead vocals from Jett Black are quite outstanding with a high end range that at times, nearly cracked the club’s windows. This old fella watching and listening was in amazement at the vocals, particularly in the KISS Classic, I Was Made For Loving You. Throw in Bon Jovi, Billy Idol, Whitesnake, Guns N Roses, Van Halen and many more and I tell you now, lost in the 80’s I was.

Jesse Jaxx (Guitar), Bobby Phoenix (Bass) and Mick Fury (Drums) complete the band and also supply sensational vocal support. The performance is also speckled with stabs of humour and crowd participation is a must.

If you are on the Central Coast, catch this entertaining time warp at The Entrance Leagues Club this Friday Night, 26th August. They are in Tamworth at The Albert Hotel on the 3rd of September and return to the Newcastle area on Saturday 17th of September at Berro Bowlo. Check out more on their Facebook Page @allaccess80s.

OK, pardon me Molly, but, DO YOURSELVES A FAVOUR!

Our first guest in the studio tonight is Shawn Lidster. Shaun’s visit is sponsored by Music Solutions Warners Bay, your music store run by musicians.

When you hear Shawn speak, you will be wondering where he is from. Well, he is from Kincumber on the Central Coast. My apologies, I am trying to be funny. Shawn is a singer/songwriter originally from Newfoundland Canada who now calls Australia home and has a new album coming out which was recorded and produced by award-winning singer/songwriter Shane Nicholson.

Shawn’s Folk-based roots music blends his own heritage with Australian charm into a mixed bag of Celtic/Alt Country/Blues to delight the ears of listeners.

The Devil & The Angel Album Launch will be held in his new home town of Kincumber on the 17th of September, listeners tonight will have a sneak preview and Shawn will also play live in the studio for us.

To find out more about Shawn, chek out his Facebook Page @ShawnLidsterSongs.

Our second gusts in the studio tonight, Aaron James and Chris Buchanan are brought to you by Cardiff Golf Driving Range, Cardiff.

Aaron James is an alternative/pop rock artist from the Central Coast. His music influences include All American Rejects, Kisschasy, Simple Plan and Maroon 5. Aaron’s debut single, Endless Summer is out now and he also has a Youtube clip, which is very cool. Aaron has been involved in many music projects over the years, including stints with punk rock band Short Notice and rock band Paper Wolves. Aaron is currently the bass player with Sydney Indi Pop Band, Motion Liners.

Aaron is an energetic, fun seeking solo artist in his own right, also teaming up with other artists to perform as a duo.
