Newcastle-based pop-up choir One Song Sing are back this weekend asking people to raise their voices at funky inner-city cocktail bar Babylon.
this time around the community choir will be channelling the raw power of punk high priest Iggy Pop and flame-haired B-52s singer Kate Pierson and their iconic duet Candy.
The track featured on Iggy’s ninth solo album Brick By Brick and became the biggest mainstream hit of Iggy’s career (so far).
Also, the Iggster reckons the track was the one good pop tune he had written.
As for One Song Sing, the choir has been around since June 2017 and they kicked off the whole concept in Newcastle with the classic Church track,ย Under The Milky Way.
They have since tackled Paul Kellyโsย How to Make Gravy, INXS smash hitย Never Tear Us Apart and Fleetwood Mac’s Don’t Stop, Sia’s Chandelier among others.
One Song Sing tackle Candy at Babylon Newcastle from 4pm on Sunday 14 July.
