American country-folk singer-songwriter, Oliver Anthony will bring his Australian tour to Newcastle in 2025.
This will be the first time the breakthrough artist has performed headline shows down under and his date at City Hall will give local country music lovers the chance to see the internet sensation up close and personal.
It was only last year that a video of Anthony performing his song Rich Men North of Richmond went viral and eventually saw the song take the number-one spot on any music chart that mattered.
Rich Men North of Richmond now has over 175 million YouTube views and around 250 million Spotify streams. It’s not a bad outcome for an artist who had previously only recorded songs on his mobile phone.
His first studio album Hymnal Of A Troubled Man’s Mind was produced by Grammy-award winner Dave Cobb and boasted no less than 18 songs.
