Shopping for an occasion like Mother’s Day can be fraught with problems during a lockdown. But never fear, because the Olive Tree Market is here to save the day.
A fixture on the Novocastrian weekend calendar for the past 12 years, the popular market is picking up stumps from its Civic Park location and taking it online.
Olive Tree founder Justine Gaudry said it was important, now more than ever to support this region’s fecund creative community.
“We have launched this brand new initiative to support our creative community through this time and beyond and to provide a dynamic platform for our virtual visitors to experience the Olive Tree Market from the safety of their homes,” Justine said.
“This is a way for you to support the artists, small businesses, and the creatives you know and love, and to help keep the creative communities heart beating!! Itโs more important now than ever.”
Justine added that the line-up for the inaugural virtual market will be released via the Facebook event link in the coming week along with details on how the virtual platform will work.
“We want to thank the wider community for any support they can contribute to keeping the creative community alive, during this difficult time,” Justine added.
“Any purchase, no matter how small, will bring a smile to the face of a local artist, designer or maker!ย Our community will be providing special promotions, and discounts, for the virtual market day in thanks for community support”
The Olive Tree Virtual Market will be held on Saturday May 2. And given it’s the week before Mother’s Day, people will be able to have their pressies delivered directly to mum.
