In news that is sure to make any self-respecting Novocastrian food fancier shed a tear, Adamstown-based eatery Adam’s Ribs and Pizza will close its doors for good this December.
Taking to Facebook this week, owners Mark and Annette revealed, in a heartfelt post that after almost nine years of serving up some of the most tender ribs this town had to offer, it was now time to look to a new challenge.
“It is with a great deal of emotion that I make this announcement that on Saturday December 19, Adam’s Ribs and Pizza will be closing its doors for the last time,” the post read.
“After almost 9 fantastic years it is time for me to move on to the next stage of life and head North and hopefully have a year off to travel and enjoy life.”
After continuing thanking all of the staff that had worked at the store and customers for their unwavering support since opening back in 2012 Mark added that he believed the business added a welcome element to the Newcastle food scene and we wholeheartedly agree.
“When we started back in 2012 we had no idea if we would survive a year let alone more than 8. Nobody had done takeaway ribs before that we knew of and nobody had successfully emulated an American style takeaway and Diner. I think we did pretty well at it,” the post continued.
While Adam’s Ribs will be sorely missed, the good news is that you still have until December 19 to enjoy their perfectly cooked ribs , pasta, and dizzying array of pizza creations!
“We want to make these final 6 weeks as much fun as we can and I look forward to seeing and talking to every one of you until then. Thank you all, from Mark, Annette and all the team here at Adam’s Ribs & Pizza,” the post concluded.
Adam’s Ribs and Pizza is located at 548 Glebe Road Adamstown. Head here for more information.
