NO AVERAGE TRIBUTE: The Rolling Stones Revue to hit Newcastle in August

The Rolling Stones Revue will bring their rock ‘n roll extravaganza to the Civic Theatre in August.

Celebrating six decades of The Rolling Stones, this is a tribute like no other featuring some of the country’s most loved rockers.

Fronting the revue are four of Australia’s most loved artists. Adalita from Magic Dirt, Phil Jamieson of Grinspoon, Tex Perkins from The Cruel Sea and Tim Rogers of You Am I.

Each of the vocalists brings a deep admiration for the iconic band which makes this show much more than your everyday tribute.

Backing the star-studded lineup is a powerhouse band featuring Jak Housden on guitar, Dario Bortolin on bass, Gordon Rytmeister on drums, Rob Woolfe on keys, James Christowski on guitar, and Winston Smith on sax.

The show will open with a full performance of The Stones’ seminal album Sticky Fingers, with iconic tracks like Brown Sugar and Can’t You Hear Me Knockin‘.

Sticky Fingers, considered one of The Rolling Stones’ best works, holds a prestigious place in rock history. It was the band’s first album to top both UK and US charts and has sold over 26 million copies worldwide and is in Rolling Stone magazine’s list of The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Following the complete run-through of the album the second set will delve into the greatest hits. Expect full sing-a-longs to absolute classics like Satisfaction, Jumping Jack Flash, Gimme Shelter, Start Me Up, Honky Tonk Woman, and Sympathy for the Devil.

The Rolling Stones Revue hits the stage at the Civic Theatre in Newcastle on Sunday 11 August 2024. Tickets are on sale now at
