T’was the Night Before Christmas and all through the town,
all the rockers masked up because Omicron was around.
But from Nobby’s Lighthouse shone a beacon of light,
sure to keep Santa safe and sound on his flight.
And from inside of his sleigh, Newcastle looked lovely at night,
but shouts from below caused the reindeer a fright.
“Hey, Santa old mate have you had your shot?”
“A.Z. for me bro, I ain’t scared of no clot.”
While preparing to land – Santa looked down to see,
skid marks on the road where supercars were to be.
“Don’t worry, Rudolf, they’ll be back early next year,”
“Let’s head down to Rogue Scholar, I feel like a beer.”
Back to the job, checking in as he goes,
while Rudolph lights up the road with his nose.
Up Hunter Street Mall and down Hill View Crescent,
Santa was done except for one present.
The last gift was delivered with care for good reason,
it was the magic the Knights needed to win the next season.
“Now, Randall! now, Ponga! now Saulo and Sue,
On, Barnett! on, Mann! You know what to do!”
Down Beaumont Street, while giving way,
Santa stood up like he had something to say…
“Although it’s locked down, the party’s soon to arrive,
to find out what’s on visit Newcastle Live.”
