After much anticipation, Newcastle’s newest watering hole, The Rum Diary Bar has opened its doors.
The brainchild of the tipple titans behind Melbourne’s original Rum Diary Bar, the Newy iteration will occupy the space previously inhabited by the Terrace Bar.
And in what is great news for booze enthusiasts, the libations will be flowing thick and fast from 3pm on Friday 25 September onwards!
The venue’s website proclaims that the: “shipwreck” venue is “bursting at the seams with Rum, Caribbean food, cocktails and much much more”.
A cursory glance at the stacked menu proves this claim correct.
While travelling abroad is pretty much a no-go at the moment, The Rum Diary Bar offers you an international passport to drinking pleasure with its selection of Rum Flights which allow to sample four of the best British, Spanish, French and Portuguese-style rums on the market.
When it comes to cocktails, you’re also in good hands. With a hefty selection of 15 concoctions to choose from, repeat visits are almost a must.
We can’t wait to wrap our laughing gear around the likes of the Rum Diary’s famous Dark and Stormy or the Rum Diary Treacle – Rum Diary spiced rum, Diplomatico Exclusive Rum, juniper syrup and cloudy apple juice.
When it comes to the food, the Caribbean-inspired bill of fare is no less tempting.
From Peppered Prawns and Fried Plantains to Jumbalaya and Jerk Chicken Burgers, this menu is sure to delight flavour enthusiats across the city.
You can help christen the bar from 3pm on Friday 25 September but you might want to phone 4032 7991 to secure your spot and avoid all that pesky FOMO.
