Newcastle’s cultural precinct comes alive with Olive Tree

With the Spiegeltent Newcastle taking pride of place in Civic Park over the next little while one of the park’s regular denizens will be adding an extra element of culture to the region.

The Olive Tree Market is back on June 1 and will be sharing the space with the opulent Speigeltent offering up a literal cornucopia of wares from our own creative community.

You will have the chance to meander through a bustling collective of over 130 contemporary artists, designers, and street food purveyors, who will be showcasing their work.

Also, as you are perusing the eclectic range on offer your ears will be treated to cool tunes from the likes of Lachlan Edwards, The Dew Cats and Crazy Old Maurice.

On the maker front, some of the highlights for the June iteration are sure to be the contemporary jewellery of Hello August, fine art photography from A Little Gypsy In My Soul, and funky home-wears from Burbia and Henry and Trunks.

The food front is no less fecund either with the popular Bao Brothers leading the charge along with Covered in Crumbs, Choux Patisserie, Fifi La Femme, Zaytoona Middle Eastern, Thai from Schillykickk, Turkish from Master Gozleme and Chinese dumplings from Nan’s Dumplings.

The Olive Tree Market will be on at Civic Park on Satrday 1 June from 9am to 3pm.
