Local whisky and craft spirits enthusiasts take note because the much-loved Whisky and Crafts Spirits Festival is making its grand return to Bartholomew’s in Newcastle this August.
This year, festival organisers are promising to take things to the next level with a new event sponsor, the Scottish whisky brand Bruichladdich.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to bring back the Whisky and Crafts Spirits Festival to Bartholomew’s,” festival host Phil Elsley said.
“Last year’s event was scaled back due to social distancing requirements, so we’re eager to showcase an even wider array of amazing whiskies and craft spirits this year, both from established distilleries and rising stars. And the best part? We’re welcoming a larger audience than ever before!”

The 2023 edition of the festival will see whiskey lovers immersing themselves into the world of great whisky and craft spirits with distillers from across Australia and around the globe as they make their way around the event trying a vast range of spirits, some of which have never been seen before.
Attendees will also have the unique opportunity to sample and purchase from renowned and respected brands that have made their mark in the industry.
But here’s the hot tip – If the last two events are anything to go by, you’ll need to jump on tickets quickly before they sell out.
“Our last two events were sold out, and we anticipate the same response this time around,” Phil said.
The 2023 Whisky and Crafts Spirits Festival is happening at Bartholomew’s on King Street in Newcastle on 19 August. For tickets and more info visit wacsfestival.com.au
