A brand-new modern country music festival is riding into Newcastle this spring, as Strummingbird Festival makes its debut at a yet-to-be-revealed location on Awabakal Country.
Blending country’s deep roots with a contemporary twist, Strummingbird promises a boot-stomping celebration of music, culture and community.
The festival is the latest creation from Kicks Entertainment, the team behind Spilt Milk, and is set to deliver a full-throttle experience for long-time country fans and curious newcomers alike.
Strummingbird will tour across three Australian cities, Sunshine Coast, Newcastle, and Perth, bringing with it a jam-packed day of music, dancing and good old-fashioned fun.
With the official lineup dropping on 31 July, organisers are already teasing a top-shelf collection of artists ready to light up the stage.
Beyond the tunes, punters can expect line dancing sessions, classic BBQ eats, ice-cold bevs and country-themed fashion and merch stalls.
The festival grounds will feature a lively sideshow alley, complete with a mechanical bull and honky-tonk vibes that channel the spirit of both the roadhouse and the mainstage.
With its blend of Nashville charm and Aussie festival energy, Strummingbird looks set to strike the right chord with music lovers across the region. The Newcastle leg offers locals a rare chance to experience a full-scale country event without hitting the highway.
Strummingbird will make its debut in Newcastle on Saturday 1 November 2025. Presale tickets will be available from Thursday 7 August. For more information and to sign up for early access, head to strummingbird.com.au.
