King Edward Park will come alive with the sights and sounds of the festive season when Newcastle Permanent’s Christmas Under the Stars returns for 2024.
This year the beloved event will scream the American classic Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.
“Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is a classic holiday movie that never gets old, whether it’s your first or tenth time watching it. There’s something truly magical about watching it outdoors under the stars, and we can’t wait to share that experience with families,” Newcastle Permanent Chief Distribution Officer, Paul Juergens said.
Before the screening, the event will feature live performances of Christmas carols by
talented local artists like The Vanguard Players, Flex Quinn Trio, Tim Harding, and
Belmont Dance Centre.
The event will also feature a host of free activities for kids, festive face painting, an
inflatable soccer target, and lawn games. Families will also have the chance to snap a photo in Santa’s sleigh.
“Christmas Under the Stars is all about creating special moments – from the carols to the
activities, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. We hope to see families from all around
the region come along for what promises to be a fantastic evening,” Juergens added.
Families will be able to take advantage of a free shuttle bus from Bar Beach car park and Bolton Street car park – doing continuous loops every 10-15 minutes.
Newcastle Permanent’s Christmas Under the Stars will take over King Edward Park on Saturday 7 December from 5pm. For more information visit newcastlepermanent.com.au.
