The Newcastle Live Desert 5 wrap up

The start of the month saw the end of our Desert 5 series, so we wanted to take the opportunity to thank all the local artists involved and curate all the entries into one post for anyone who missed out.

During the month of May we asked some local musos to tell us what 5 albums they would take with them to a desert island. In other words; what were the 5 albums they couldn’t live without. The idea was taken from a radio programme broadcast on BBC Radio in the UK. Desert Island Discs, as the show is known, was first broadcast on 29 January 1942.

We hoped to gain an insight into what inspired the musos we asked to take part, and were over the moon with the candid responses.

Below is a list of the artists who took part and the albums they chose. To see their full commentary on each album click on the associate links.

Once again thank you to everyone who took part, and keep an eye on the site for the next instalment in a few months.
