The Newcastle Live Desert 5 series

During the month of May Newcastle Live will be asking local musicians to list the 5 albums they couldn’t live without. What albums would they take with them if they were stranded on a desert island?

Through this process we’re hoping to gain a better insight into their lives and get and idea of what makes them tick as a musician. The idea is taken from a radio programme broadcast on BBC Radio in the UK. Desert Island Discs, as the show is known, was first broadcast on 29 January 1942.

We’re currently collecting responses, and will publish 2 or 3 lists each week during the month. First cab off the rank will be Adrian Buckley. Adrian performs in his band Sugar and is a promoter of the Into The Valley arts and music festival, and the much loved Wollombi Music Festival. Look out for his list on the website tomorrow.

If you’re a local muso and you would like to submit a list for the series please email rockon@newcastlelive.com.au
