Newcastle Fringe 2027 is calling on artists and creatives, with applications now open for the city’s next celebration of comedy, cabaret, theatre, spoken word and everything gloriously outside the box.
Billed as Australia’s Biggest Little Fringe, the festival will return in March 2027, promising another packed program of performances from artists willing to push boundaries and defy genres.
Applications are open to everyone from seasoned professionals to emerging creatives with an unusual idea they’ve been brewing at home.
There are no auditions, with the festival operating as an open-access event.
Performers can apply through the Eventotron platform, and are welcome to stage more than one show or collaborate across multiple venues, provided they can manage their schedules.
Artists are responsible for registration fees and marketing their own shows, while Newcastle Fringe provides performance venues, technical support and a marketing kit.
Each artist will also be included in the festival’s print and online program and receive promotional support during the pre-season campaign.
International artists are also welcome to apply, provided they have the appropriate visas and permits.
Applications for Newcastle Fringe 2027 are open now and close on 30 September 2026. Programming is expected to be finalised in early November, with the festival program launching on 1 February 2027 ahead of the festival in 6-21 March 2027. Artists can apply via eventotron.com.
