NEWCASTLE FRINGE FESTIVAL
2021 EVENT GUIDE

ABOUT THE FRINGE

The Newcastle Fringe goal is to present a diverse open access program to draw the largest audience from all demographics in the local area and to act as a destination drawcard for visitors to the region, to attract Fringe artists from all over the world and to take advantage of the Australian Fringe touring circuit. Newcastle Fringe is deliberately scheduled to run behind the Adelaide Fringe in an effort to draw acts touring to Adelaide.

JONATHAN BIGGINS

He’s come a long way since he played guitar in the Musical Flags – a retro surf bubble-gum pop band that was the precursor to the more famous Castanet Club back in the early 80s, but Jonathan Biggins still has a soft spot for his hometown of Newcastle. When asked to become a celebrity ambassador for the Newcastle Fringe Festival, Jonathan was only too happy to oblige.
