Bernie’s Bar is gearing up for a huge night in Newcastle, with Bernie’s Birthday Bash set to take over the laneway this Saturday.
The beloved venue is celebrating three big years with a jam-packed lineup, wild competitions, creative chaos, and one very iconic red mohawk.
The party kicks off from 7pm, and true to Bernie’s style, it’s anything but low-key. Two stages will be pumping across the night, with Nova Hudson and Neil E Falik taking over at 10pm before Adam.Ext and Sticky Waffles crank things up at 11pm.
Meanwhile, the decks won’t get a moment’s rest thanks to a fierce DJ lineup spinning from 9pm right through until the early hours.
And because a birthday party is no time to be subtle, Bernie’s is rolling out a heap of extras to keep the energy high. The Biggest Bernie’s T-Shirt Album will see punters wearing their favourite Bernie’s tee, or grabbing a fresh one on the night, to create a massive crowd photo moment.
The Patrick Lookalike Competition kicks off at 9pm on the outdoor stage, complete with red mohawks and vests. Inside, face painting and live portrait art will run from 9pm to 11pm, giving party-goers the chance to take home a one-of-a-kind memento.
The laneway will also be buzzing with the Mayfield Community Cats BBQ fundraiser from 8pm to midnight, a non-alcoholic can bar, and a special Best of Bernie’s cocktail menu at the main bar.
Plus, in the most committed crossover of the year, Bernie’s has teamed up with FLT Tattoo Studios for a Bernie’s flash sheet, and anyone who gets inked before the big night scores free entry.
