Newcastle Bands! VB Wants To Take You On Tour

It’s hard work being in a touring band. Booking supports, venues, lighting, logistics, luggage, and even just establishing an audience for your band in different cities, is no easy feat.

Luckily, Victoria Bitter have announced the return of VB Hard Yards. Now in it’s 2nd year, they’re giving three young bands the chance to get a leg up. They’re looking for Australian bands that have put in the Hard Yards, and want to take it to the next level.

Bands from Newy are eligible to enter, and will be offered the opportunity to be paired with massive local headliners in some of Australia’s best venues in October; Northcote Social Club in Melbourne, The Foundry in Brisbane, The Lansdowne in Sydney, and a hometown show at The Cambridge Hotel to boot!

Not only that, but they’re also offering up $5,000 in cash, and some pre-paid rehearsal room hire to help you get ready for these big shows.

Last year the top prize went to Byron Bay’s Mini Skirt, who nabbed cash prizes, recording and studio time, and an upcoming 7” with Aussie legends Cosmic Psychos.

To enter, head to and let them know in 200 words or less how your band has done the hard yards and deserves to win all the good things! Be quick, entries close July 15th.
